Two Years Later
So, yesterday he celebrated one
year older ... he's pro'bly turning 10. But really, it's not much a celebration
when your mum isn't around...
One year on, what have I learned about pain? I have learned that life and the emotions it throws at us is like a walk in closet. You can choose what clothes, shoes and accessories you can adorn - you can choose your dressing depending on the events of the day or, how you want to feel about yourself in that day --- AND, whatever you choose, you must wear a piece of everything, one day at a time. You can't walk naked [at least not for long].
I have learned that, you can choose to hide your pain. Or, you can choose to fully feel THAT moment life throws at you - Feel it so vividly that you obtain clarity. You make a resolution &, move on. From where I stand, I can fully attest to the words of Ecclesiastes 3. Not every chapter is written in tears and contemplation, not every chapter is written in hurt or betrayal or even, rejection; not every chapter is written in sweat and blood. Some chapters are written in a cold glass of Coca Cola stirred in lemon juice, others are written in good red wine beverages and others in pure tap water!!
See, when you come to the end of the book, you close it. Period
