Samuel 4:4: Tell Your Heart to Beat Again

Gooooood moorrnnniing lovelies :) Trusting that your weekend was amazeballs, allow me to indulge us on the story of Mephibosheth (Everyone repeat after me, Mephibosheth... again? Awesome).

Now, in 2nd Samuel 4:4 a story is told about a boy who was born crippled. In the days leading to 2nd Samuel 9, the life of this boy changed from royalty, from being a heir to the throne to an IDP! As if being crippled on BOTH feet was not bad enough, this boy became a disabled; courtesy of his nanny who attempted to help him flee. His name was (literally) Mouth of Shame.

... this story, to some extend reminds me of 'damaged goods'. It reminds me of you and I. When we find ourselves in places/ circumstances that break us. When the people who ought to have protected us with their time, money, wisdom, property etc. missed a step and disabled us with their words, their actions: When you applied for that school/ course and they said you were not brilliant enough, when they told you, you were not pretty enough, or talented enough, or qualified enough. When they missed your diagnosis, and worsened a predicament. When the person you pledged forever with, went out and cheated on you or when he/ she insulted your best endeavor? Damaged goods.

This morning, the reminder to us is ... are you still ALIVE for God to show you His kindness? For God to give you restoration? In the words of 2nd Samuel 9:6 it says Mephibosheth BOWED (He fell on his face) and showed honor to the king. ...and this is where it ALL starts. Stop holding onto pride/ anger/ grudge/ pain/ dissappointment, etc. fall down at the feet of God. Be humble, be broken, show reverence to Him who is madly in love with you. And allow him to restore you. Okay? Okay.
Take good care of yourselves and of each other,
Hugs, hugs
:D :D
