Broken

What lessons have I learned about Brokenness?

I have learned that broken children make AMAZINGLY broken adults! Regardless of whether the adults are husbands, wives, fathers, mothers, uncles, aunties, grand fathers or grand mothers, friends or complete strangers! Broken adults are made from broken children.

You heard the sermon on Proverbs 22:6, 'Train up your child in the ways he should grown and WHEN he is OLD, he will NOT depart from it", and you thought the good Book was only referring to the things you directly teach your child in deeds and words. And you forgot, that they are watching.

When you are verbally fighting with your spouse, they watch! When you gossip on everyone and everyone, they watch! When you clandestinely hate your neighbor, they watch! When you avert your responsibilities and paybills last minute or when you perpetually say, 'Hakuna pesa', they watch! In a moment of haste or frustration when you snapped at them saying, 'Tokeni njiani'  as they attempted to show you their homework/ classwork/ something they are immensely proud of, they watch!

... and they break, with or without your knowledge. And broken children make REALLY broken ADULTS.
