Servitude of Your Pain

There’s a place where pain has learned to build a home in the hearts of man.
It’s a place we hide in silence
Under layers and layers of work and life
Evinced with a little resentment here, a little bitterness there...
                      - Unforgiveness -

In a place that once knew love
Lies frothing pangs of hate and contempt
In a place that once knew trust and hope
Lies different forms of betrayals
                     - Unforgiveness -

You try muffling it up
With hoards and hoards of "busy-ness"
Trying to ignore it into obscurity
Still, it grows
Its rot threatening to spread over everything you throw on it

***sigh...

You allow the pain of betrayal/ rejection/ failure
To take the center stage
And it sits arms folded, legs crossed - In front of you
Refusing to go.

Slowly,
You allow your heart to register this paradigm shift
And you allow "it all" to submerge and entwine
In the rich fabric of you

Love, you do not have to allow the devil to have such a stronghold over your life (Ephesians 4:27). Do not let him take advantage over you. Don't let him lead you into sin by holding a grudge or nurturing anger, harboring resentment, cultivating bitterness in unforgiveness. "Revenge is mine" thou sayst the Lord (Hebrews 10:30). Thus, learn to lay it all down at His feet. In fact don't let the sun go down with unforgiveness dwelling in you (Ephesians 4:26).
Forgive, so that your own sins are forgiven (2nd Corinthians 2:10-11 & Mark 11: 25 26).
Forgive easily. Forgive freely. Forgive gracefully. Forgive often. Forgive seventy times seven a day (Mathew 18:22). Forgive until you can't stop forgiving. Forgive just as you have been freely forgiven (Mathew 10:8) Stop trying to collect from those who have hurt you, they cannot pay you...
For the longest while, the devil has used resentment to chain you to the hurting past.... and we consent to it. We cajole it. We applaud it. Because we feel justified. We think we have time. Until the time passes and door slowly closes in on us, and we no longer have a place for forgiveness to take place...

This right here is the story of your life,
You're the protagonist of this film
What's the feature of your next scene?
Ask the person whose time is up
What they'd do to have your life...

Stop girdling your life in unforgiveness and hurt
Break those chains that keep you, from being you...
Walk out that prison door.
Wake your heart up
And live the story you'd write for you
