Broken Halelluyah

It might have been in the wilderness days
Where he sought to protect his father's sheep
In the days where he fought lions and bears with his own bare hands
Or it might have been at the battle field
Where he won his fight with just a stone and sling

But whenever it was...

He had learned the notes of the secret chords
The beautiful serenade
That touched the heart of God

And on this day the eyes of the powerful king
Drifted from the sight of God
To the beauty of her naked skin
Glowing against her luscious hair
While he was composing HIS hallelujah

Mesmerized by the beauty of love
Chained by the mistakes of yesterday
He starts his day beckoning  at his foes
His strength and pride were in fact his weakness
Cause it blinded out the truth of his fragility as human
She, at the meantime, cut his hair
Drawing out THE hallelujah from his lips

I know this for sure, cause I too have seen
The most untimely silence speak in eloquence
I have seen a handsome face
Trading my emotions and my devotions
I've seen him spit on my ego
And if you listen closely into my heart
You will construe that these are the echoes
Of a Broken Hallelujah
