Twilight Zone
Today, I woke up feeling like I wanted to be anything BUT me. First I thought "When I grow up, I want to be Amani." I mean who wouldn't? This girl is nothing but beautiful, talented and going to places... (forget the crap you heard about her). It's amazing how she easily sings what's on my mind and dances in rhyme too. hmmm, if wishes were horses, I would have a collabo with her in the future... (Oh, Lord Creator and establisher of my dreams...)
Then, I said I wanted to be Juliana, a princess and a girl who got her breakthrough in a karaoke joint! Who knew Buganda could be sound so romantic and adorable (or holy and totaly awesome, since I haven't fully figured out what some of her lyrics say). This rising star has given music a new definition and is persistently becoming the African version of Whitney Huston. Awwww... (Did I say she is a model? Well, thank me later cause now you know.)Then my longest dream, Valerie Kimani! Hahaha... You can't ignore her infectious smile and her cheekiness masqueraded behind the talent in her singing and flair in her stage presence. I totally love the part they gave her in Shuga 1 although she went MIA in season 2. Then in higher learning... you just can't have enough of her!
In another life, her and Catherine Kamau (aka Selena of Mother in Law) probably were best friends or twin sisters... something about them two are so similar! So I thought when I grow up, I want to be Valerie Kimani, I want to be one of the people who will make my country so proud with my talent and that my stage presence will be just as infectious, heh Valerie, I think you should show the world what you're made of like TPF and Mnet were just child play! I also want some awesome opportunities like hers to get beyond the boundaries of my country because of my talent. To meet other talented people who share my passion. I want to work with other great talents like Harry Kimani, Eric Wanaina and Alvan Gatitu (am the only one ogling over this man? how old is he by the way? -Just asking)
Someone should tell this man am still looking forward for a latte date with him and a dual performance too... hmmm Valerie, Alvan... by the way why didn't you two make it happen? This could be one beautiful romantic story turned into reality. But hey, that's just my opinion, right?
Now to the dream of dreams (or probably my final round up of dreams) Amileena!! Chic you got the voice, the groove and you can drop it like its HOT!! I've got like a billion questions for you...for starters,
"How did you get there?" and don't tell me that's the bathroom practice. I'm looking at you and am thinking that is me right there! The smile, the attitude, the English, the swagger ... that is me right there. (In retrospect, am in famous though) I'm also looking at you and wondering "So, if am to compose a song, is that how it'd sound like?) Then gi.i.iiii.r.rl, you are taking it a note higher! You're rolling with Ngang'alito, Collo, P-Unit..and P-Square (Inshallah)! Aii, si you give me those secrets of how I can make it happen for me!! I love your voice by the way, But am thinking if it was me up there I'd not shy away from English and I'd give Swahili and other languages such a flair touch!! (But hey, look at me giving an opinion hahaha... you're about to ask "Who are you?") The girl with a DREAM and a passion, I'd say! I love each of your performances in the Academy... "If I were a boy" that was particularly remarkable!!
Maze, hat's off! I'd gloat about you for ages but am not you, you're not me and like I said these are just dreams I had today. I'd rather wake up and make hay while the sun still shines...
